A gem of a site in a lovely setting, lost in Mid Wales between Snowdonia and old Montgomeryshire. Gwern-y-Bwlch Club Campsite features terraced pitches, some with splendid views across the valley. You'll soon find the pace of life slows to a relaxed stroll in this part of Wales. The caravan park is an ideal base for country pursuits like birdwatching or fishing. Don't forget your binoculars - the RSPB has reserves at Lake Vyrnwy and Ynys-Hir. A conservationist's paradise, with a bird hide and feeding station on site - watch out for the red kite in the area.

Gwern-y-Bwlch Club Campsite has proved ideal for anglers, who often try their luck at the Llyn Clywedog reservoir, or in the Dyfi River. If you fancy sea fishing you can book trips from the harbours of Aberystwyth or Aberdyfi. Walkers will find the Ffordd Glyndwr long distance footpath passes the caravan site. Further walking is available through the local woodland of Llanbrynmair that was developed by the Forestry Commission.

The absolute top site for peace and quiet.

Gwern-Y-Bwlch Club Campsite
No toilet block, no showers, no kids playground, just ……..nature. For those who like it quiet it‘s heaven. If you have a dog, even better - a g r e a t dog walking area. Thanks to the farmer across the valley who has the antenna in his field, brilliant mobile and internet reception. Set in deepest mid-Wales this is a gem. Same wardens year for year who know the site and the area like their back yard, well it is their back yard. Been here twice, it sort of makes you want to come back. Thanks especially to the wardens Mr and Mrs Bowyer (??)

Tucked away haven of peace and tranquility

Gwern-Y-Bwlch Club Campsite
The lack of any washblock facilities probably influences the types of visitors the site atrracts, i.e. no families. Nothing against families but their absence results in a very peaceful envrionment where visitors can enjoy the natural surroundings. Plenty of wildlife to observe, nice dog walking area on-site and not far from a number of visitor locations away from the site. Ideal for a chill out break... Perfect for our requirements

Lovely short break

Gwern-Y-Bwlch Club Campsite
We only stayed for two night but what peaceful nights they were. The site is easy to find and access and the pitch was well sized. A welcoming reception by the owner gave us a choice of pitches. The site is close enough to Machynlleth for any shopping you may need and the road to Dolgellau is beautiful and the Sea at Barmouth isn't too far away. Would use this site again for sure.

The up's down's n damp bits of Wales

Gwern-Y-Bwlch Club Campsite
If you are a person that likes to explore and go Woww on every bend in the road. this might be a good base for you. Take your camera and clock up some memories. This site is more for, perhaps for 20's upwards. Dont stay on the main road and tourist spots , adventure and find the hidden beauty of wales. 2 Weeks and a thousand miles of adventures. This is your base not your holiday. Grab things you need as u travel, fill up when you see a station. I took almost 3000 magical photo's on this trip, shame I cant post some. Simple,,,,,, EXPLORE,,,,,

Great Site

Gwern-Y-Bwlch Club Campsite
Met like old friends by the lovely wardens so off to a great start. The site has no showers or toilets and is all the better for that. The waste areas are immaculate. The phone signal is really good so tethering is no problem. Can’t comment on TV or radio reception. For us the site is all about location, lots of wildlife reserves and of course the Mach Loop
