Wonderful campsite

First time at Longleat... what a wonderful place. Huge well maintained hardstandings in a peaceful tree covered environment. Facilities usual high club standards.. spotlessly clean. Staffed by a very friendly and helpful team. We were there over a bank holiday when site was full but you wouldn't know it as it is so well spaced out. Greek street food van on a Friday evening looked great but we did not eat there as we already had plans. Would we return... definitely.

Excellent stay

Another fantastic stay. Stayed for 3 nights and visited the safari park. Amazing to hear the sealions, wolves and Lions from our pitch. We had a very peaceful stay. The facilities are always very clean and the staff were friendly

Fantastic Long Weekend

Stayed for 3 nights but would have loved to stayed longer. Amazing hearing the wild animals from the Safari Park right next door. We had a very relaxing, chilled and peaceful time, and have already recommended to anyone who is willing to listen. Enjoyed the fish and chips on Saturday, from the mobile outlet in the carpark, very fresh, volcanically hot, and good value for money (cash needed though). A visit to Longleat Safari Park is well worth a visit, but make sure you plan in plenty of time - there is a lot to do and enjoy. Highly recommended. The site is well maintained, and the facilities were very clean. Staff on site were very friendly, super hardworking and helpful. The little office/shop sells all the essentials, in case you run out of something and is open for most of the day. Excited to plan another trip - fabulous and thank you,

Fantastic Wardens

Firstly the wardens are fantastic. So friendly and helpful, nothing was too much for them. Can't rate them high enough. Secondly the Site was clean and tidy as expected but the standard high site fees with the standard facilities as normal. CAMC should review site fees and this awful 20% deposit requirement. You're pricing yourself out of the market and we only stay on your sites now if there isn't an alternative private site nearby.

Excellent location

This is a part of the world that we visit quite often, but only the 2nd time we've stayed at the site (first time 20÷ years ago!). Stayed for 4 days mid week and the site was nice and quite, not sure if it would be the same during the school holidays though! Staff were very friendly and helpful and are keeping the site spotless. The facilities are very clean and perfectly fine, though they are getting a little tired, though again to reiterate, spotless and perfectly usable. So not an issue really. The access to the wildlife park is great, we found a drive through first thing in the morning, shortly after opening, the back to the site for lunch and sort the dogs out. Followed by a walk round the rest during the afternoon. We found that one day was fine for us, but you might want two if you have kids in tow! Loads to do and see in the area, which would take forever to list here! Didn't try out any of the local eateries or pubs though. The free WiFi isn't the best, but it does the job, would prefer the better paid service, but not available (yet???), Overall a great stay and would definitely use again!

A great site spoilt by the Longleat safari park company.

The site is typical good caravan club standards but is getting a little tired now and ready for a refurb. The staff are helpful and friendly. Last time I stayed at this site was many years ago when the old Lord Bath was alive, you were then able to go for lovely evening walks around the grounds and get a club discount for the day. Sadly the whole Longleat park is now under the control of a management company. It is impossible to get anywhere near the grounds without paying the very expensive ticket, my daughter paid over a £100 for 2 adult tickets. The whole reason for me attending the site was to relive the great time I had years ago, sadly I shall not be returning.

Disappointed

Having been several times it is sometime since last visit. Welcome and reception very good. Facilities although clean seem “very tired.” Problems with wi-Fi prevented online purchase of tickets for the Park. Could not purchase discounted tickets at Park gate or Site reception. However as a goodwill gesture Longleat gave a limited Discount by way of vouchers. If you are not careful Longleat can be a very expensive outing. To be sure of minimising problems book Park tickets in advance from home. Also the Park have restricted members from walking through to nearby facilities without paying entry fee each time. Previously site receipt allowed this. All said and done lovely to be outside caravan listening to sounds of animals in the Park.

Great Site

The team were very helpful, site clean and well cared for, shower block clean and well maintained. Peaceful location, even with the sounds of the animals in the safari park. Had some lovely fish and chips from the van that visited site. Liked it so much we extended our stay, would have stayed longer but had to get home.

Lovely site

April 2024 We stayed for 2 nights here as we had to have our caravan serviced in Westbury on one of the days. The site was very well maintained and clean. Check-in was very straightforward and we had plenty of pitches to choose from all with good access for our 8m long caravan. From start to finish the staff were very helpful. We had an issue with the electrical connection to the car and the warden Mark went out of his way to assist with the issue. Loved the dogwalk. So nice to have a pretty walk with the dogs through the wood with the bluebells out. Very peaceful, great to hear birds and animal noises instead of traffic! We will certainly be back for a longer stay. One of the best sites we have stayed at.

A Good Campsite

The campsite at Longleat is in a great location for the safari park which was our main reason for visiting, other than the safari park it is a bit cut off for other facilities though. We went over the Easter bank holiday, the site was full, my husband had to queue for a shower, the facilities seemed a bit on the tired side, and dated but they were very clean. It did rain a lot, and the facilities were used a lot, so by the time they were due to be cleaned the next day, they really needed it. The site at night was very dark, there weren’t many lights about, I know the Club is trying to be environmentally friendly but it made it really difficult to first of all find a pitch and then try to set up. I know the club are trialling the peg system but again it’s difficult when it’s pitch black and raining with very little light. The play area was disappointing, our daughter was really looking forward to it but it needs updating really, and for the amount of children on the site it’s really small and it was just full. There were also older children kicking footballs round it, not the campsites fault but annoying when you have a toddler. The staff were friendly, and helpful, the site is noisey at night from the safari park, the sealions don’t stop all night, and the safari vehicles are up and down from early in the morning on the road next to the campsite. Phone signal is impossible to get, and the wifi was very poor as well, but didn’t expect it to be brilliant as it is so far out. Overall a nice site, well maintained, clean but it does need some updating. I have read that the lease is due to end on the site soon, and unfortunately you can tell, such a shame as it’s so handy for the safari park.
