Top notch Staff

Lovely riverside site in the River Exe valley. 2 mins walk from Dulverton village with pubs and shops. Beautifully kept pitches and grounds. Site Managers, Simon and Nicola went above and beyond in two instances we witnessed with elderly people having falls and did so with a smile on their face at all times. They are a credit to the club.

Great staff and spotless facilities

Fantastic site. One of our favourites. Warm, friendly welcome from the wardens (who remembered us from last Whitsun!) and very quick check in so the 1pm queue doesn't build up too quickly. Good choice of large hardstanding pitches. We were lucky enough to get our favourite pitch too. Excellent facilities (2 blocks) and always spotlessly clean and well looked after by wardens and campers. Water points around the site. All bins, including recycling at the entrance. Literally a 5 minute walk into the village and/or to the local pub (Bridge Inn). Lovely quaint little village with everything you could need.....Co-op, butchers, fish & chips shop, tearooms, restaurants and bars. Great walks directly from the site. We particularly love the walk up through Burridge Woods to Marsh Bridge and back. Great tearoom at Marsh Bridge with excellent cream teas and freshly made cakes (all tables are outside). Good fish and chip shop in the village and not over-priced like some. Had a Sunday roast in the Bridge Inn and that too was excellent (not cheap though!). We had friends camping with us who we introduced to Dulverton and they loved it and the site. Maybe this will be our new regular Whitsun home? Here's hoping!

Exmoor House.

We stayed for a couple of nights while touring around the South West. The initial impression was not great as the site seems to be on the edge of a small commercial estate but once on site we found it to be a haven of peace and tranquility. A great base for local walks with easy access to the lovely village. Highly recommended.

So peaceful

Only had 3 nights here but what a lovely quiet site with the soothing sound of the river. Facilities and staff couldn't be faulted. Easy to stroll into Dulverton which has interesting museum, model railway, buildings and shops and we coincided with the farmers market which had a good assortment of stalls. The weather wasn't perfect but better than forecast. The site is well located for going north to Dunster Castle (lovely drive along the river through trees) or south to Tiverton. Tiverton was a disappointment as the town planning had clearly gone wrong somewhere.

Peaceful and relaxing.

Had a lovely and much needed break over Easter,we have stayed before but not for a while, and the site was every bit as good. The wardens do an excellent job,and all very friendly a good morning or just a hello goes a long way.The site was beautifully kept and the wardens work hard to keep it like that. The facilities were clean and warm. There are plenty of good walks around Dulverton, which has everything you need and more, even a petrol station, which had I remembered would have saved a trip to tiverton.Plenty of lovely palaces to visit without going miles,or if you go further there is the doone valley lynton, lynmouth and the valley of the rocks. Very sad to go home,we wished we could have stayed on,but will most definitely return for a longer stay.

Superb site

What a gem of a site, located on the edge of the beautiful village of Dulverton and perfect location from which to explore the delights of Exmoor. Excellent, clean facilities and well spaced pitches. The wardens are very friendly too. We shall definitely stay again in the future and recommend to all members.

Another great visit to Exmoor House

As always a professional, friendly and efficient check in process by the site managers. General appearance of the site is excellent, the site managers really take pride in the site. Despite being at maximum capacity no real impression of feeling close to other units. Easy walk into the centre of Dulverton where there are some nice local shops and tea/coffee rooms. For evening meals try the Lion Hotel . Don’t be put off by first impressions. Lovely food, good value and friendly staff. For that special meal you won’t do better than Woods Restaurant but reservations are essential at weekends. We use to eat at the Bridge Inn, avoid it now since it’s changed ownership. Overall a lovely site, exactly why we are CAMC members.

Excellent First Visit

We have just returned from an excellent 3 night stay on this site. We must firstly say how wonderfully well kept this site is and the facilities (toilets and showers) are kept incredibly clean and tidy by the wardens. On the subject of the wardens, all credit must go to them. They were very friendly and clearly enjoyed looking after their guests, even the on site pheasants!!! Super location for the village and we would highly rate the coffee/ gift shop called Tantivy. My husband also said the local fish and chip shop was also excellent. Although I have rated four for families I suspect unless you have a car (we didn’t as came in our MH) people may find the local facilities for children a bit limited. For our first trip out this year we really enjoyed our stay and will definitely be back later in the year.

One of our favourite sites

I've been meaning to write this review since our last stay at Exmoor House in November so better late than never! We've stayed at this lovely site near Dulverton several times and try to go back every season as it suits all our needs perfectly. It's really close to a delightful town which has regular films showing in the town hall and concerts at the church. We always seem to find something good to go to. The walking and cycling from the site is fantastic. Easy access to Exmoor and good less taxing walks along the river. The shower block is scrupulously clean and super warm especially on a cold winter day; just what you need! The wardens go over and above to make your stay as delightful as possible. Last time, we arrived slightly early, before the 1pm suggested arrival time and waited short of the site and the barrier. The warden came out and in cited us to check in. What a pleasant man, I wish I could remember his name!

lovely little site - clean and charming

A warm welcome by lovely staff, I had called ahead due to complications at another site earlier this summer. On our arrival, not only were we greeted with a map/layout of the site, but pre-marked pitches for us to check out. We picked a serviced pitch when booking online, and it was more than adequate, aside from the rain! The site was clean, well maintained and good facilities. During our stay it was busy, but peaceful and the sound of the River Barle is very soothing. Longer units be advised, the village is fairly narrow in some parts of the road down to the river/bridge. Fairly small area to walk the dogs, so each morning we took a trip round the village which has a beautiful church. A short walk into the village, there is a pub (with a decent pint!) and good food, a cracking fish & chips takeout, a Co-op, pet shop, butchers and fresh fruit & veg and some delightful charity shops.
