Becoming a CL - the requirements

What we look for in a new CL

Our CLs are carefully chosen taking many things into account including:

  • A fairly level ½ acre of land
  • Safe access for caravans including 12ft wide gateway and safe approach road
  • Screening from neighbours and surrounding countryside
  • A breathtaking view (a real bonus!)

What you will be asked to provide

  • An emptying point for chemical closets, with rinsing tap, preferably on mains drainage
  • A safe drinking water supply
  • A bin for dry rubbish
  • Public Liability Insurance Cover

Optional extras

  • Electrical hook ups
  • Showers and toilets

Our standards are high - in fact we refuse more applications than we award each year, but we are always looking for new locations to offer as wide a choice as possible to our members.

What are the restrictions?

  • You can host a maximum of 5 vans per night
  • Visitors must be members of The Caravan Club
  • Visitors must be touring for leisure with their caravan
  • No caravan should stay for more than 28 days at a time
  • Sites are for recreational use and not for storage or permanently sited vans.
