DVLA enhances its customer service

The Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA) has introduced a number of enhancements to make it more flexible for motorists when renewing their tax disc.
In news that may be of interest to car insurance customers and other road users, the executive agency of the Department for Transport states that two new changes mean that drivers will have longer to tax their vehicle.
From September 1st, people purchasing a tax disc online, by post or over the phone will be able to legally drive their automobile for up to five days while they wait for their new one to arrive.
In addition, drivers are now able to buy their disc from the fifth day of the month that their current one is due to expire in, whereas previously they could only be bought from the 15th day.
DVLA customer services director Adnrew Rhodes comments: "It makes sense to be able to buy your tax disc throughout the month and we are pleased to offer a service that may help our customers manage their monthly outgoings."
