Spotlight on Ingleborough to offer walks and talks

02 July 2008

People enthusiastic about the great outdoors have the chance to learn more about the region of Ingleborough as part of a free festival which is due to take place later this month.

The Yorkshire Dales National Park Association (YDNPA) explains that a series of walking activities, as well as a range of talks, will run from Monday July 7th until Saturday July 12th.

"This event is a fantastic opportunity for people to experience the wonderful landscape of this unique area and be able to learn and explore the landscape and wildlife alongside real experts," comments Paul Evans, Ingleborough National Nature Reserve manager for Natural England.

Funding for the event has been secured from the Yorkshire Dales Millennium Trust and Natural England and it is being supported by the YDNPA and the Heritage Lottery Fund.

People eager to take part in walking activities of their own could be tempted by the pursuits offered by The Caravan Club.

In other news that may be of interest to those touring the Yorkshire Dales region, the park authority recently noted that a pair of peregrine falcons are raising two chicks at Malham Cove in the region.
