'Remain vigilant' when caravan touring

27 March 2008

While touring and holidaying with their caravans, consumers have been advised not to let their guard down and leave themselves at risk of theft.

As the Easter period is a time of year when many caravans take to the roads, owners should think about protecting them and potentially avoid the need to claim on caravan insurance, the Huddersfield Daily Examiner has asserted.

The publication explains that thieves may well see caravans as potential targets and, as such, owners should be vigilant.

It encourages people to relax and make the most of their holidays but not leave the doors and windows of their caravan open while they enjoy a stroll as this could provide an opportunity for burglars.

Motorcaravan insurance from The Caravan Club provides £2,000 of personal effects cover, which includes equipment, baggage and awnings.

In related news, drivers were recently warned about the dangers of driving while tired as part of a government campaign featuring the voice of actor Joseph Fiennes.
