New exhibition on display in the Dales

27 May 2008

People touring the Yorkshire Dales over the next few weeks have the opportunity to visit an exhibition which features picked-up items called the Found Past.

Artist Lawrence Cutting will be displaying his exhibition of collected items at the Dales Countryside Museum until June 22nd.

He explains that the display is inspired by items and objects found in his home and that it also relates to his interest in creating art based on past influences and events.

"The collages on show are based on objects, scraps of newspapers, wrappers, cigarette cards, letters and things found under the floorboards during various alterations since moving in 1972," Mr Cutting comments.

He will be holding a collage workshop on May 31st between 13:00 and 15:00 BST, Yorkshire Dales National Park Authority notes.

In other news from the park, it was recently announced by the authority that the Yorkshire Dales Hay Time Festival, which will feature more than 70 activities across the region, has begun.

A wide range of Caravan Club Sites are located around the country, including in National Parks, in news that may be of interest to those on a touring holiday.
