Halloween thrills galore for families at Blenheim Palace
10 October 2008
Blenheim Palace is set to offer families a spine-tingling treat this October, with an exciting array of Halloween horrors set to get the heart - and blood - racing.
From October 25th to November 2nd, children and adults alike will be spellbound by the spooky tales of Victorian period storyteller Horace Tawrie.
Meanwhile Professer Heard's Victorian Magic Lantern Show will use pre-cinema techniques and optical illusions to bring a host of friendly ghosts and circus performers to life.
Of course, Halloween would not be complete without a pumpkin or two, so visitors are also invited to the castle's Garden cafe for a spot of pumpkin carving, while the Park and Gardens will feature their very own pumpkin trail.
Blenheim Palace is a World Heritage site and was built in the early 18th century to celebrate the UK's bloody victory in the Wars of the Spanish Succession - meaning there may be one or two real-life ghosts still walking the corridors.
Those taking a caravan to Blenheim Palace may want to stay at the Bladon Chains Caravan Club Site nearby.
