Britons looking for the perfect caravan holiday in Yorkshire may want to note the winners of this year's White Rose tourism awards.
Run by the Yorkshire Tourist Board, the awards seek to honour the best destinations and tourist facilities in the region.
Wentworth Castle Gardens and Stainborough Park in Barnsley won the overall Visitor Attraction of the Year title in the sub-50,000 visitors category, while Harewood House in Leeds won the equivalent prize for the over-50,000 visitors section.
Treasure hunt organiser huntfun.co.uk received the title of Best Tourism Experience of the Year, with The Pipe & Glass Inn winning the Taste of Yorkshire award and The Durham Ox in Crayke scooping the Yorkshire Pub of the Year title.
"The White Rose Awards are an excellent way to showcase the high standard of Yorkshire and Humber's tourism industry," commented Andy Tordoff, assistant director of environment at Yorkshire Forward.
Wentworth Castle Gardens and Stainborough Park date back to the 18th century but were only officially opened to the public for daily visits in May 2007.
Other great days out in Yorkshire include the Bronte Parsonage Museum and the Jorvik Viking Centre.
