Ireland

A new barrier-free tolling system has been introduced on the M50 around Dublin. The easiest way for locals in the area to use the system is to register for an electronic tag which is placed in your windscreen.

Visitors, however, have to go through a procedure rather similar to that for the London congestion charge. Each time you pass the toll point your vehicle registration number is recorded and payment must be made by 20.00hrs on the following day.

Payment may be made either by telephoning a local lo-call number (1890 50 10 50), through any of the national “Payzone” branded outlets (newsagents etc.) or via the website http://www.eflow.ie/ from which further information may also be obtained.
