The Ask Your Club article in the May issue of the Club Magazine has caused a great deal of interest and many follow up questions.
To answer these, a further article will be published in the June issue, and this is reproduced here ahead of the Magazine's publication to help all those seeking advice on this issue.
To avoid possible confusion, we recommend that this new article is used in preference to that in the May issue.

On a related issue, the enquiries resulting from the May article have highlighted that an appreciable number of Club members have not considered until now whether they should be using towing mirrors at all. To clarify the position regarding this, the requirement is that:
You must be able to see clearly down both sides of the caravan, and 4m either side, at a distance of 20m behind the caravan.
There will certainly be some combinations of car and caravan which can satisfy this requirement without extension mirrors. However, we believe that these will be very much the exception rather than the rule, and that most outfits will therefore require towing mirrors.
Unless you are absolutely certain that your vision meets the above criteria, we advise that for safe and legal towing, extension mirrors should be used.
