One of two Grand Cherokees and, unanimously among the judges, the better of the two. Powertrain is a V6 turbodiesel and five-speed automatic transmission. It’s quite fast enough, there were no problems with instability and four-wheel drive meant assured restarts on the 14% gradient.
Only problem was the handbrake, obviously designed for left-hand drive cars. At least it held the outfit OK. The Grand Cherokee swallowed all our caravanning equipment and the car has a 140kg noseweight limit.
