This car won the '£16,501 - £20,000' category at the 2007 Towcar of the Year awards.
In a way I’d describe this car as ‘ordinary’ – but I’m not being disparaging when I say that. I mean it isn’t flashy; it doesn’t shout ‘look at all these bells and whistles’. It just gets on with the job.
I must say it makes a mighty fine job of towing a caravan, with faultless stability, one of the best handbrakes in this year’s competition and a gearbox with six well-chosen ratios and a nice action that makes you want to make the most of them. A sensible shape, with plenty of carrying capacity and a decent (75kg) noseweight limit makes this a great car for towing. In that respect it’s actually quite extraordinary – and good value for money.
