North Yorkshire Moors Caravan Club Site is set within the relaxing and tranquil surrounds of the North Yorkshire Moors National Park, the setting for the Heartbeat television series. Some pitches of the caravan site are pleasantly spacious and open or there is also a choice of more secluded locations, sheltered by trees. There are some spectacular moorland views from the western side of the site with the North Yorkshire Moors being a paradise for walkers. The site and surrounding area also offers some beautiful dog walks.
When visiting North Yorkshire Moors Caravan Club Site, you will have over 1,300 miles of footpaths to choose from, many of which can be joined from the park. For less energetic holiday makers at the caravan site, there are scenic drives through moorlands and forests. Having completed your explorations of such natural beauty, why not pass a restful day enjoying the peace and tranquillity of the countryside in all its splendour. Another way to enjoy the incredible scenery is via the North Yorks Railway, with magnificent steam trains to ride on and journey stops at beautiful rural stations, such as those at Goathland and Grosmont villages. If you fancy a change of scene, why not head to the coast and take in a visit to Whitby, with its harbour and lovely views from the cliff tops either side of the estuary. You are sure to be inspired by such magnificent views, making this a break to remember.

Very surprised how spacious & well laid out this site is, we used the Whitby park & ride excellent service. Recommend the NYM train & coast path between Robin Hoods Bay & Whitby, very enjoyable 7 night stay.
This is a lovely site. The wardens were very friendly and welcoming, advising us where the best pitches were for the sun all day, also told us about the park and ride, as we have a motorhome. We did go into Whitby a 10 - 15 minute drive but we parked behind The Abbey, it cost us £5.50 for 6 hours and we knew we would be able to fit the motorhome in the spaces. The Grandchildren loved the site, we played ' Boules' on the specially made gravel area, we played golf, I agree that it is a bit worse for wear, but the kids enjoyed it anyway. They liked the site so much they wanted to stay longer. We will definitely be returning.
My wife and I spent a few days on this site. The pitches are all mainly level and many with hardstanding. It does lack facilities but that isn't a problem if you have a modern caravan. In spite of it being the summer holidays there were not many children on the site and those that were there were well behaved.
The site is an excellent base for touring the area.
There is a convenient park and ride close by on the A171 so there is no problem getting into Whitby and avoiding the hassle of trying to find a car park with spaces.
The wardens were friendly and welcoming and the site is kept very clean and tidy.
We hadn't been to this site for some time but we will be going back.

Turn left off the A171 (Scarborough - Whitby) in about 13.5 miles (2.5 miles past Flask Inn) onto the B1416 (signposted Ruswarp). In 1.75 miles at the signpost to Maybeck turn sharp left through red gates (care required). The site is on the right within 0.5 mile.
From South: follow the A169 through Sleights (1:5 gradient downhill on approach). Do not turn right in Sleights. Continue to the A171 and turn right signposted Whitby.
