Silverbank Caravan Club Site is an open location just off the Aberdeen to Braemar Road; it runs parallel with the River Dee through some absolutely splendid countryside. Nearby Banchory is a popular little holiday town offering a wealth of activities for all the family, including pony trekking, fishing and a golf course. Whilst staying at the caravan site, you will want to take the time to visit Cairngorm National Park and Aberdeen, the capital of the Grampian Highlands and Britain's Cleanest City. Just some of the highlights this city boasts are its floral displays, clean sandy beach, narrow cobbled streets, busy harbour and educational Maritime Museum. For the children, there is a fun Science Centre with over 50 hands-on interactive exhibits and live science shows as well as the family history shop.

There are plenty of excellent walking choices available from Silverbank Caravan Club Site, including some lovely dog walks. A 2.5 mile saunter will bring you to the Bridge of Feugh where you can sometimes spot salmon leaping up the falls. For a longer walk, explore Glen Muik where you can go right around the Loch and will almost certainly spot deer. The site is also a great base for exploring fascinating historic sites such as Crathes Castle which has an adventure playground for children, Drum Castle and Gardens, and the beautiful castle and grounds at Balmoral.

With all these local activities at hand, this caravan park makes for a memorable family holiday.

Golden Retreat

5 out of 5

This must be my favourite site on the Caravan Club network. It's peaceful, Pitches are a great size well laid out garden grounds kept immaculate by the wardens who are very lovely people. Great dog walk down the deeside way alongside the River Dee. 10/10 for this site I see seasonal pitches have just started here.  the only down side it gets very busy and booked up by locals at weekends and often site rules are overlooked which should not be the case. Otherwise if you want a weekend book early.

Nice but tired

4 out of 5

I have stayed on this site several times over the years and always enjoy the site and area. The site is tidy and maintained well by the wardens, however, some money requires to be spent on it as the facilities are rather tired and are insufficient when the site is full. There was heavy rain during our recent visit and the pathway to the water and waste facilities was under two inches of water as the path is lower than the surrounding grass area. This is not ideal and could be rectified by a contractor in the closed season.

Great Time

5 out of 5

It was a long way to go from the South, but worth every moment. The drive through Cairn O' Mount was very cloudy so views were non existent. The way back was very different. Having arrived the wardens (not the regular ones) were most friendly and helpful, which is valuable to a lone traveller! It is a lovely site, though beware of the traffic noise. There is so much to see and plenty of walking. The views are glorious from anywhere and the driving in Scotland is still a "doddle". Even in a motorhome. If I am ever in the vicinity again, I would return without hesitation. It was a carefully planned trip staying in different places and Silverbank was the highlight.

The combination over the years of a 13thC square tower, a very fine Jacobean mansion and additions by Victorian lairds makes Drum Castle unique among Scottish castles.
