Thetford Forest Caravan Club Site is set in luscious Forestry Commission woodland. Quiet and secluded, the caravan park offers pitching areas in little open glades and tempting trails for exploring the natural charms of the surrounding area. Within the forest there is a memorial area to the Desert Rats, giving the visitors a flavour of life during the Second World War. On-site there is an abundance of wildlife, with deer often spotted in the early mornings. The site is wonderful for dogs, with great walks nearby.
Within a short distance from Thetford Forest Caravan Club Site you will discover the market town of Swaffham. Steeped in Georgian history, the town also has a fine Saturday market for some leisurely retail therapy. It is also known for being the birthplace of Howard Carter, discoverer of Tutankhamun's tomb, and there is an extensive exhibition about him in the local history museum located above the town hall. Both King's Lynn and Norwich have other historical centres of note, and are within easy driving distance of the caravan park. Another excellent day excursion would be the beautiful Norfolk coastline with its many charming villages. High Lodge Forest Park is a great day out for kids and Lynford Hall and Arboretum offer some lovely walks. Plenty of pubs including The Swan in Hilborough, can be reached within a short car ride.

Spent a weekend here and what a relaxing time! we arrived and received a great friendly welcome from the wardens. Pulling around the site, we decided to take a grass pitch and settle in one of the glades. This was a great decision and we were able to walk the dogs through the forest, following the Desert Rats trail, which is flat and suitable for all abilities. We will definitely be returning.
we have just spent 3 nights along with our family including two young grandsons at this beautiful, tranquil and superbly maintained site. It's the type of site you leave and want to return to and unquestionably we will. Visited Banham Zoo and Bressingham Gardens/Steam Museum about 35 minutes away. Excellent venues to interest grandchildren. To compliment the site, we met some wonderful people as well, not least the wardens. Keep up your splendid work. Your site is a joy to visit.
Have just spent a fab 2 nights on this glorious site.
Needed a quick and quiet weekend away from work without getting too strenuous and this was all our prayers answered.
Really welcoming friendly wardens who provided s great deal of local knowledge. The site was beautifully laid out with very large hard standing pitches and grass available too.
No shower lock facilities but that was not a problem for us. Great walks literally just by the site. Picked bag full of lovely blackberries which was a bonus for dessert.
Can't wait to return to this peaceful paradise

Turn right off A1065 (Swaffham - Brandon) about 2.25m past Hilborough into site entrance road. Note: particular care required turning right into site by WW2 tank. Try to avoid Brandon on A1065 between 16:00 and 18:00 due to traffic congestion.
