Idyllic off grid CL Site

Kentsford Farm
This was our second visit to this site, so we knew what to expect. Site is approached down a narrow farm track that has three club signs on the gate. Site is through the farm yard over a mill Stream. Just have to ask the ducks to move ! One of the biggest CL fields we have ever been on loads of space between units. Easy traffic free walk / cycle into Watchet ( 1.2 miles to the harbour). Traffic free path to Washford, and Blue Anchor within walking or cycle range. Not forgetting the steam railway alongside the site. Great basic site for off grid camping.

Darling Buds of May.

Kentsford Farm
Signage could have been better at this site withjust a small club sign on the gate. Entrance is down a bumpy farm track the through the farm yard on on to a small bridge over a steam. It’s very tight with a large twin axle caravan but we managed it with a bit of guidance. Reminiscent of the Darling Buds of May with ducks wandering about and sheep in neighbouring fields. The site is an old apple orchard with long grass which wasn’t a problem as the weather was glorious but would be an issue in poor weather. There is a footpath to the rear of the site as is the railway, so there is a bit of noise but nothing to worry about. Nice 20 min walk in to the town which has shops, pubs and a pretty harbour. Just a tap and a drain to put your waste into which was fine for us. Never saw the owner so just wired the payment over. A very peaceful off grid site.Good phone and TV reception.

Peaceful Spot

Kentsford Farm
Beautiful peaceful site with the added interest of the steam railway passing nearby. Care is needed though accessing the site over the narrow bridge

AS Tranquil as it gets!

Kentsford Farm
Managed to book a night when we suddenly were able to get away a day early. So glad we did, we pitched in the most peaceful spot we have stayed. The sound of the river Washford babbling past and the birds in the trees was a wonderful antidote to the working week we had both just had. You park in an orchard, from the edge of which is an easy cycle or 10 minute stroll into Watchett. As a bonus, the West Somerset Railway also passes there - what a delight to see a steam train chugging by. Don't panic, they only pass about four times a day between 10am and 4:30pm. Watchett itself is a small fishing port with plenty of places to eat and rehydrate - we visited Pebbles Tavern on the recommendation of some locals - quirky with a great range of ciders and beers. Approaching the site is down a farm track, just go gently and all will be well. There is an interesting bridge to cross to enter the orchard, or if you don't fancy it, you can cross a very shallow ford. Keep your eye out for all the interesting vehicles and items in the yard as you pass - and if you are lucky, you can have a very interesting chat with the owner about them. Enjoyed our visit so much, have booked again.

Lovely rural base for the Jurassic coast

Kentsford Farm
We stayed here for one night in April 2022, a last minute extension to our short break in Somerset, with our 4 year old and 7 year old. The postcode took us straight to the farm; the last half mile track is very rough and only wide enough for one vehicle, but ok if you take it steady and don't meet another vehicle! We didn't see the owners during our brief stay. On reaching the farm, it wasn't immediately obvious where to go, but a quick recce on foot revealed the site was just a short distance over a somewhat narrow concrete bridge across a stream - navigated with care in our van conversion. The grassy field beyond is dotted with fruit trees and has plenty of space to choose a pitch, only gently sloping in places. We didn't need to use the waste disposal point so cannot comment on that, but found it and the water tap in the centre of the field without problem. An open stream runs along the edge of the field, so young children may need to be watched.. A handful of steam trains gently passed along the edge of the site in the daytime during our stay. A level, well kept footpath accessible easily from the site follows the railway line to the town of Watchet, where we found plenty of choice of eateries, and two stony beaches to explore. This is a lovely base for Watchet, and I'm sure we'll be back,
