We stayed at Baltic Wharf for 2 nights in June.  The site was meticulously maintained and very welcoming wardens.

The wharfside walks are lovely and there's a waterside pub within 100 metres of the rear gate.

Don't forget the water buses which make the trip into the city centre a very nice experience.  Good shops too.

We'll be back as soon as we can manage it.

There were lots of dogs on-site when we stayed earlier this year.  The back gate leads directly on to a wide footpath along the waterfront which is car-free and you can walk for 1/2 mile in each direction without encountering traffic, although there are quite a few bikes.

I wouldn't let the urban nature of the site put you off, there are plenty of lovely waterside walks.
