I have just booked a pitch at Sandringham Caravan Club Site for October /November, making it clear that we would be accompanied by our dog. It is only by looking at other review sites that I discovered that a deadly disease affecting dogs is prevalent in
that and other wooded areas in Norfolk and Suffolk. I am going to cancel as we would not want to expose our dog to the risk. http://www.sandringhamestate.co.uk/news.asp?s=7&v=1&p=23

What surprises me is that the warden didn't mention the risk even though it is posted on the Sandringham website. In my view this is negligent and I am very disappointed that the Club is not more proactive in making members more aware of such a significant
risk to our 4 legged best friend.

Just received an email offering a pitch at Southlands for £1 which when you add 2 people makes it £13 per night. On the face of it this is a good offer as Southlands has good facilities.

Tried to book a ferry but you can't do that on line through the Club as it comes up with an error. Had a look at Wightlink for a crossing and this came out at £235. Now makes the CC offer look stupid. I can get to France for the same price from Portsmouth
and I know where I would rather go.

The Caravan Club recently withdrew from the Braithwaite Fold site - a real gem. I see that the CCC is about to take over this site. If the CCC can make this work financially why cannot the Caravan Club. Members have lost access to one of the very best and
most sought after sites on the network. I will now join CCC just to future access. I always considered the CC to be the organisation with most clout - looks not to be the case. Anyone else have a view?

OK during this week the UK has had some of the worst weather in years, this has caused a massive disruption to the CC and its members causing loss in revenue for the club and holidays for all of us.

There are several posts regarding how it should of been dealt with and what needs to be done and i think the best ideas have been said an automatic system that contacts you regarding the CC site.

But this does not have to be only for the weather it could be used for many uses. The play area is closes, pool closed,Reduces pitched due to weather/or unforeseen circumstances .

the list is end-list.

The other issue is with over 200 sites how can they contact every member.

Not everyone has email on the move but I'm guessing that 99% have a mobile.

My idea is set up a automatic text message service that only sends you a message if you send a text first ( auto reply system )

Before or during your trip you ask the CC site your heading to for a current update and they send one thru text, its then up to you if you travel or not.
