member Inali, Caravanner one purple star [Online] Posted 24 January 2012 by Inali Quote | Report As a person who took up caravan touring five years ago when released through bereavement from an intensive role as a carer, I usually travel on my own. May I praise the Caravan Club for having a fee schedule that allows for single people, like me, as well as couples and families of all sizes? If I were to stay at a commercial site, I would usually have to pay a fee which covers the pitch, hook up etc, and two adults. This fee is almost always considerably higher than the Caravan Club's charges for pitch and all facilities, plus one adult. So, as a member of the Caravan Club I can enjoy a wide selection of high quality sites, all over the UK, at the best possible price per night. This is important to me as a semi retired person on limited income. Due to health challenges, as well as all the other unexpected things which suddenly happen, I find the Caravan Club's 'no deposit / book and cancel responsibly' policy very helpful, too. Post liked!

I agree the booking system has been ok for us too. we visited 20 site across the country and even got into York which some say is impossible to get into. As far as cost is concerned I'm pleased to say we've had midweek discounts and will be away this weekend in Castleton for 3 nights for £42 which is a good deal as far as I'm concerened. Post liked!

I too was widowed just over a year ago after a long period of caring. Although through that period we also managed to get away between hospital visits. Since then I have spent 5 weeks in May in Ireland and about 14weeks last year at different sites mainly CL's. Planning a trip abroad again this year. I find people very friendly towards us single people and have met some realy nice people. Long may it continue. Our paths may cross sometime. Post liked!

I often hear there are many single travellers that meet up regularly at our sites for a break. Would that be something either of you would be interested in? Post liked!

member RSH, two green stars [Online] Posted 16 February 2012 by RSH Quote | Report One of the reasons why I joined the club was that lone caravaners are accepted. I came back to caravaning 2 years ago and started looking for sites to go on and found a lot of commercial sites didn't allow single people which limited where I could go. Post liked!
