Advanced booking

This thread needs to be a "sticky" as the subject has been aired on CT a number of times already.

Unfortunately, I don't remember any agreed solution being put forward as there are so many differing needs among the membership.  I think it will take the wisdom of Solomon to solve this one.

I agree JimE, many years ago deposits were taken, but even in those days, people didn't turn up.

I think this subject is like football, politics and religion, we all have our own views and  it will not suit everyone, whatever the solution might be.

I agree with Skyman. Why do we need any change to the booking system? Everyone has an equal chance to book a pitch on a first come first served basis. I know things can get a bit busy in high season but for all the rest of the year I can't see that there is much of a problem. Out of interest a few minutes ago I had look at the late availbility section for next weekend (21 - 23 Sept) and saw that with very few exceptions there are pitches available on nearly every site in the network. So where's the need for a complicated new booking system?

High season should be shortened along with the summer weather we get now
