Where do you keep your caravan ?

We are fortunate in having bought the garden off our old neighbour. We have access to a closed off road that runs through the village and the van is under constant surveilance by very nosey neighbours, who don`t miss a thing ! Even so, the van has just about every security device, barring landmines and razor wire !!! If someone is detemined to nick your van, nothing will stop them, all you can do is slow them down enough for them to be noticed.

We keep our caravan at newlands caravan park storage facility in wellesbourne near stratford upon avon: http://newlandscaravans.co.uk/ it is cassoa gold rated with electric security gates and only 2 miles from stratford, it costs 350 pounds a year which is a bargain for peace of mind and cheaper caravan insurance.

Finally found the right place for our caravan, only 10-15mins from home very secure, owner lives on site and very helpful reasonable cost at £300 plus vat. 2 mins from main A22 and A27...perfect

WARNING TO ALL WHO STORE AT HOME !
We are new to Caravanning and are lucky enought to be able to store our van on the drive, this help keep the costs down and is also handy for those short notice breaks away. However we have just returned from Easter Break at Hurley River Side Park ( really nice ) only to find that while we were away we had an attempted break in, fortunatly they failed but made a real mess of one of our windows. We are sure that this was someone local who spotted the van missing from the front drive and took advantage of our weekend break. We are now looking for storage away from our home. I guess when we go away it is a little like putting a flag up saying we are away..

Had heard the same about storing at home so keep at a secure storage area, were told a horror story re burglers knowing you are away one couple had their entire house contents loaded into a van while they were away because the van was missing!! The neighbours thought they were moving and had not told them. Storage site everytime for us.

As we live in Guernsey and there are no caravans allowed we keep our caravan in a Gold Casoa site.  As it is not easy just to pop to the van we have installed a solar panel on the roof for the alarm and battery over the winter.  I do think sometimes though the van gets a little lonely and phantom sends me a text to say please visit your van lol.  Love our storage site.  Very helpful owners who understand where we live.  We do use our van though even with that bit of sea we had 43 nights last year in our van.

Caravan Storage around here is usually £50 pa or so - but one of the local vehicle recovery firms only charges £180!

They have a secure yard with CCTV and 10' electrified fence - and 24 hr manned entrance, more secure than than the Cassoa site we previously used. Our insurer still gives the same discount.

We  keep our's in storage just 2 miles from M1 Chesterfield which is about 15mins from home.

Storage is Gold Cassoa cost's £350 pa, we have 24hr access by electroinc fob, cctv, electric fence; caravan washing area use of brushes etc, air for tyres. Maybe costly but i know it's safe.

I keep my caravan under my pillow beside my shotgun.

Not really, but there might be a thief reading this.  :)
