Ultimate towcar?

My Shogun is excellent but getting a bit old fashioned. - I can't afford to change it so at the moment it is brilliant.

I have to agree with you Dave. Being a recent convert we think it is the best towcar we have ever had.

I am not sure you ever know what is the ultimate tow car is as you often think whatever the current car you have is the best. I have owned two Kia Sorento's including the current one, both autos. It does what I want to but whether its the ultimate tow car I would hesitate to say!

Vehicles like the range of Land Rovers and Kia are very much purpose built and will cope with almost the heaviest caravans. I use a Nissan Navara to tow my van.  It pulls like a train and is very stable but is awful at trying to reverse as the wheelbase is so long.  However, it is cheaper to tax than any other 4x4 I have seen.  Would love a Range Rover but the one I like is £93,000.00!!!

We tow with a nissan xtrail and find that this is the best two car we have had so far,its our first 4x4 so that might make a difference

My Landrover Discovery does just fine.  Plenty of lee-way - certainly well within the 85% of kirbside weight of car that is recommended for towing.  It's ten years old but has plenty of life left yet.

Best Towcar Mitsibishi L200 truck tows beatifully plus all that SAFE luggage space.  And only £130 road tax

My Disco TD5, which has been re mapped pulls our Bailey as if there is nothing there, can`t see me replacing it for a long time, more than happy with it.
