Gorgeous site, and highly recommended! Me and the wife and our 2 children visited in October and the facilitiesand surroundings can only be described as fantastic!Ideal for visiting the nearby town of Huntingdon and the city of Cambridge! Surrounded by a beautiful working watermill and river and a warm welcome in the local village pub.All the little cottages with thatched roofs made it look idyllic! Cant wait to get down there again in May!

Club Together may not be an English or grammer lesson, but just because CC members wish to communicate with each other, by the written word, there is no reason whatsoever to encourage a lowering of the standards of our great English language.

I agree this is a beautiful site, we stayed here a few years ago and had lovely weather. The tea shop at the mill is a bonus, the cream teas are moreish - the only problem being that it was not open every day! Lots of interesting places to visit and several gentle walks around the pretty village.

Myself and my husband visited this site last year and totally agree.  It is a lovely site in a lovely area.  We remember it for another reason as well though.  Firstly, we tow using a white transit van, new and unmarked, but a van none the less.  The look on the wardens face when we drove down the drive and the relief when we walked into the office was the cause of much laughter.  Secondly, it was our fist experience at puttine up an awning!!!  After 2 hours we gave up, the following day we watched as another van pulled up and the occupants had a full awning, much like ours, up in about 10 minutes flat.  We were shamed into having another go, and , thought about it logically, laid out the poles and other bits and pieces and proceded to argue for about 2 before and to the amusement of many other, finally putting up our first awning.

Have visited this site many times, but now live just 3 miles away so can enjoy the lovely surroundings whenever we like! Great for walking and cycling, and there's even a National Trust Teashop near the site entrance. We know you will enjoy a stay here. Use the new guided busway from St Ives Park & Ride for a day out in Cambridge.

A rally is a get together of like minded fellow caravanners for some relaxation and light hearted fun.Me and my wife were apprehensive about them at first,as there is very rarely any provision of electric hook up and you are totally reliant on your leisure battery, unless you are lucky enough to have some solar inverters or a generator.Water is of course provided, but you must have use of your own toilet.Facilities are provided for toilet emptying.Usually rallies are organised in some very interesting locations! One of the latest ones we attended was at Eden Camp in North Yorkshire.A former prisoner of war camp from WW2,which is now an award winning museum.Unlimited access to the musuem for the duration of the rally and a massive assault course and adventure playground for the kids to play on.All for £22 for the weekend! great value for money. Give it a try and join your local centre via the C.C website.I'am a member of the East Yorkshire Centre, and i have a lovely collection of rally plaques building up on the mirror in my van! Great fun and great times to be had!   By the way, thanks for the non constructive and insulting comments on my post on Houghton Mill, whoever wrote them!

We stayed here on the Easter week-end 2012. this is a lovely site. We loved the site it is situated in a beautiful village just outside Huntingdon, St Ives is only a few miles away. (a lovely town to walk around). The facilities are clean & modern as you would expect from the CC.(on NT property) if you enjoy walking there is plenty of scope for you. we  also enjoyed watching the boats go throught the locks. There are plenty of places to eat out locally, We found a lovely pub that allows dogs into the bar area (Fab Sunday Lunch).

The only negative I could find with this site is that barbed wire can be found in some of the hedge rows on site (warning notices present) which in itself is not a problem but do children read this when running around?

on the whole a great site and would gladly return again for a long week-end

This is a great site with an excellent shower block. You can walk into St Ives and also walk to 2 local pubs for an evening drink.  Houghton village is lovely with a well stocked village shop for all your supplies. If you are there during the season the mill (NT) is working on Sundays and you can buy the flour.

My husband lived in the village of Houghton Regis so it was a nostalgic visit for him visiting his old teenage haunts. The site is lovely and we would love to visit again but having bought a caravan with my retirement fund it rather a long pull from Devon.  We had a camper when we last visited.

Now we tend to explore the C L's of Devon and Cornwall, we have time of in October and am currently looking for somewhere different to go.

I agree.  We love this site.  First class facilities, very friendly and helpful wardens, lovely pubs within walking distance, a very pleasant walk into St.Ives and less than an hour away from home - what more could we ask!

yes a nice site,,,,,,,but a few things to be aware of.The pitches are not all level..many are situated in the lower part of an undulating field. So if you are unfortunate enough to have your awning in the dip..when it rains it will be full of water. So make sure you get..the awning on the higher side of the pitch. When you get there you will see what I mean. Some very nice walks, facilities are excellent and the ducks are many.
