It's a lovely car whichever model you choose, but this was the
judges' least favourite. With DSG automatic transmission the Škoda
just doesn't sparkle; the gearbox is continually hunting for the
right cog. That doesn't spoil the car's stability or make it any
less luxurious, but it does upset what could be a relaxing tow,
especially on twisting, undulating roads.
As with all Superbs in this competition, the 2.0 TDI DSG
couldn't be faulted in terms of load capacity, but again its socket
is not the most conveniently located.
