The weak pound has attracted many people to Scotland for their holidays this year, it has been revealed.
It has positioned itself as a great value for money destination with those who would usually holiday abroad, noted a spokesperson for VisitScotland.
Both Glasgow and Edinburgh have a vast range of things to do and see for visitors, from festivals and music, arts and culture and activities for all the family," she commented.
European visitors are also seeing value in Scottish holidays as they find their money is going nearly three times as far due to the strength of the euro, she revealed.
Recent figures from VisitBritain show the UK attracted nearly 23 million visitors in the first nine months of 2009.
This summer, three per cent more international visitors holidayed in Britain than in the same period of 2008, it also found, which equates to 100,000 additional holidaymakers.
