Visitor numbers to Yorkshire improved considerably over the course of the last year, suggesting that caravan sites in the region may be in for a busy time.
Gary Verity, chief executive officer at Welcome to Yorkshire, believes the latest figures from VisitBritain show just how highly tourists value the county.
He continued: "We have invested in Yorkshire and it has paid off dividends.
"Our aim is to make Yorkshire a world-class destination and the results speak for themselves."
Visitor attractions in the region saw their numbers increase dramatically over the last year, he emphasised, while trips last summer escalated by 35 per cent.
This puts Yorkshire well ahead of the national average of 15 per cent, which is something the region is very proud of, Mr Verity added.
VisitBritain recently launched its Cities Campaign in a bid to increase visitors from overseas to top locations across the country.
