Caravanners are more likely to see a pothole in Surrey than in any other region of the UK, according to new research.
Figures released by Kia Motors suggest that UK breakdown due to pothole accidents are more likely happen in the county than anywhere else.
Nearly 2,000 potholes are believed to affect an estimated 450,000 motorists on Surrey's roads - a figure which may rise over the Easter break, when many families take their caravan holidays.
Spokesperson for Kia Motors Sue Mulcaster said: "Potholes are often unavoidable, but there are ways to avoid considerable repair costs.
"Slowing down as much as possible and taking your foot off the brake before impact can help reduce damage."
In January, the Institute of Advanced Motorists suggested that potholes can be a major cause of suspension failures.
"Drivers should be particularly conscious of cyclists and motorcyclists trying to get past a pothole and give them a wide berth," explained the organisation's direct of policy and research, Neil Greig.
