Minister calls for 'more consideration' with road works

Road works need to be carried out with more consideration for motorists, it has been claimed.
Drivers heading to caravan sites or just making their way to work should be given clearer information about road works, according to the government.
Transport minister Sadiq Khan's comments come as he unveiled new plans to improve safety on Britain's roadwork sites.
Under new plans, caravanners will benefit from clearer signs and stricter safety conditions imposed on businesses carrying out work.
Mr Khan said: "It is not acceptable for works to be badly signed, left in a dangerous state or put in place without a thought for the needs of road users, particularly people with disabilities."
The spell of wintry weather earlier this year is believed to have created more potholes on Britain's roads, which could see an increase in repair work as councils attempt to improve the surfaces.
Potholes were also shown to be a major threat to road users in January, with Potholes.co.uk attributing a rise in accidents to the problem of invisible road damage, caused by holes in the road being filled with water, making them difficult to spot.
