Museum to mark Battle of Britain anniversary

Published: 02 September 2010

Those with a penchant for history may want to consider a great day out at the Royal Air Force Museum Cosford, which will be commemorating the 70th anniversary of the Battle of Britain.

This free event will run on September 11th and 12th, with a host of special activities that will really bring it to life.

Providing the weather is fine, a flypast will be varied out by the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight Dakota, which is sure to be an amazing sight for all visitors.

Merlin & Griffon engine demonstrations are also to be held, as will a performance from the RAF Band and the chance to see how a World War II emergency operations room would have looked like.

Children will not be short of something to do, as they are given the opportunity to colour in Spitfires and Union Jack flags.

Veterans from the Battle of Britain were recently taken on a special memorial flight over parts of England and the English Channel.
