Caravan insurance essential even in storage, says CaSSOA

Keeping your caravan insurance up to date all year round is of vital importance even when it is being kept in storage, the Caravan Storage Site Owners' Association (CaSSOA) has said.
Ted Young, site inspector at the association, said owners should remember that their caravan can still be stolen from storage and if it isn't insured, "quite simply, you're not going to get paid".
"Whereas caravanning may be a seasonal activity, criminal behaviour is an all year round activity - criminal behaviour never stops … The loss for a modern day caravan could be quite substantial, in fact very substantial," he added.
He went on to recommend choosing a specialist caravan insurance provider as they have experience in the market and will provide the best service.
CaSSOA awards bronze, silver and gold awards to caravan storage sites depending on their security record and the facilities they offer, and will offer advice on the best-rated sites in a local area.
