London is welcoming visitors to some of its most attractive green spaces.
The Open Squares event will be held from 9-10 June and will enable travellers to explore more than 200 gardens across 25 London boroughs.
It is run by the London Parks and Gardens Trust, which hopes to raise awareness of the capital's many green areas.
Among those due to be displayed are the rooftop gardens of Queen Elizabeth Hall, and the historic gardens of St Paul's Churchyard in Covent Garden, which were originally laid out in 1850.
Perhaps the most anticipated green space viewing, however, is that of the Arlington Square garden in Islington.
This early Victorian Square green space is a labour of love by residents, who revitalised it by planting 7,000 spring bulbs, 80 rose bushes and a community vegetable plot.
For visitors who want to explore the gardens with a guide, the event will also feature several walking and cycling tours.
