One of the benefits of taking holidays in the UK is that there
are so many places to enjoy a walk.
This is according to Ramblers spokeswoman Maria Castellina, who
explained that there are some locations that are particularly great
during the winter months.
She continued: "Try heading to the seaside in Cornwall or Sussex
for exhilarating coastal walks without the crowds.
"Or take in the particular wildlife that is only on display in
winter such as at the Lisvane Reservoir, Cardiff."
The great cities of Britain are also well worth a look at this
time of year, Ms Castellina noted, as they are free from mud and
have some fascinating historic buildings.
She recommended taking a stroll around Edinburgh or York, as they
are perfect locations regardless of what the weather may have in
store.
Beginners are advised to start with walks on flat terrain, such as
lakes, before building up to more difficult routes.
