Georgian architecture makes Dublin a must see

Architecture lovers will not be disappointed if they visit
Dublin on their caravan holidays in Ireland, as the city has some
fine examples of Georgian buildings.
Publicity manager at Tourism Ireland John Lahiffe noted that the
city has been nominated for the World Design Capital of 2014, which
just goes to show how impressive it really is.
One of the problems in the 1950s was that there was an attempt to
knock down some buildings, but thankfully this was stopped in its
tracks as their true value was realised, Mr Lahiffe
explained.
"Around the Fitzwilliam and Merrion Squares, in the south centre
of the city, there are buildings one can go into to appreciate what
the Georgian lifestyle was like," he continued.
Many of the Georgian squares are still open, as are a number of
houses that are sure to be a hit with history fans visiting the
city.
