Portsmouth Historic Dockyard is an ideal location for a great
day out with all the family, as it is both educational and fun for
everyone involved.
Not only can visitors learn more about the ships that helped shape
Britain's history, but also more modern vessels such as those used
by the Royal Navy.
There is also an opportunity to explore the social history of life
on board the ships and wider society, as well as the anecdotes that
have influenced the language we use today.
One of the highlights of the dockyard is the National Museum of
the Royal Navy, which includes interactive action stations that are
sure to bring children's imagination to life.
Visitors can embark on a tour of the museum, or try their hand at
climbing the tallest indoor tower in the UK.
Until 30 September, there is also the chance to see a special
exhibition, which explores how HMS Victory was originally built
back in the 18th century.
