Luxury £3m caravan park to open in Shropshire

Published: 27 January 2012

A five-star caravan and motorhome park is set to open in Ludlow this year.

The 135-pitch Ludlow Touring Park will be welcoming visitors from early May, just in time for the Beer, Bangers and Bread Ludlow Spring Food Festive on 12 and 13 May.

It has been developed by Shrewsbury-based firm Morris Leisure, which hopes that the £3 million park will significantly improve tourism in the south Shropshire town.

Managing director Edward Goddard said: "We believe it is going to enhance the local tourism and generate around £1 million a year for Ludlow and its surrounding area, which has got to be good news for the local economy in these challenging times."

He added that the park was garnering "an incredible amount of interest" from caravan and motor home enthusiasts across the UK.

The Ludlow Touring Park is based on a 20-acre site alongside the River Teme.

It will provide an ideal base for visitors to the town's many year-round attractions, including the picturesque Ludlow Castle and St. Laurence's Church.
