First Timers

5 out of 5

We are on a twelve month tour of Europe and was told about this camp by friends. What a camp it is. We have raised SIX children to respect people privacy etc and I have not heard one noisy child and this is a very large camp. It is spotless, all the staff especially reception staff are multi lingual and very pleasant and helpful. There are certain activities on through the day if that is what you want. Shop on site not too expensive but it is Winter here. Toilet blocks superb with hot water, soap, toilet paper and toilet seats ! Big pitches with water drainage and tv if you have a digi box. The town of Catral is close by for supermarkets and banks, hardware shops etc. In a nutshell its great, so good we have booked into the sister site Marjal Guardamar for a month.

Excellent new campsitem

5 out of 5

I am sorry that the last member was disappointed with this campsite and an event like described is not likely to happen for another 20 years! ( Its in Madrid next year) All I can say is that this experience was certainly an exception rather than the norm having spent long periods of time here. I am currently here for my second winter along with many other Europeans. It is quiet and spotlessly clean and has facilities that would rival any hotel. Yes hedges etc are still growing but are becoming established. This site has not been open a year yet! We have never experienced problems with children even in high season as there was almost non stop animation programme. It is true that the Spanish families tended to camp nearby one another leaving the other Europeans to enjoy peace and quiet. I have visited many sites in Spain and would not hesitate to recommend this site to anyone.

Impressions from March/April 2012

3 out of 5

We visited this site from 21 March for three weeks. It's still brand new so the vegetation is still tiny, no privacy can be afforded from the bushes or trees. Therefore everyone walks across empty pitches. Unbeknown to us there was a Spanish Caravan Rally during the Easter holiday. There were literally hundreds of caravans from all regions of Spain. A special marquee was erected at the rear of the site for their general use. However the noise levels were totally unacceptable - the rules of the site state no noise after 1am at peak time - the noise went on well after 2.30 on four occasions. The management of the site seemed unable to do anything about it at all despite our complaints. This site is also popular with Spanish families at the weekend; the facilities for children are few, therefore the toilet and shower blocks were used as playgrounds and the cleanliness deteriorated rapidly. The bar area is lovely, but getting a drink is difficult - on one occasion we waited so long for two coffees we left. The shop is well stocked, but very few camping accessories are available. As the site is so large it would probably be advantageous for the management to try to keep travelling couples without children together. We've all had kids but kept them in order - we were bombarded with balls and children running their bikes into our car. This site may be worth visiting once the vegetation has grown and there's a little more privacy. A very good night halt given it's accessibility to the AP7, but not a place we'd recommend for a long term stay.
