all about the cuisine! The café culture in Belgium offers a relaxed
pace of life and a sociable environment. While the many culinary
options of this small and welcoming nation are definitely a
highlight, there are many other reasons for a visit.
Bruges is one of the best preserved
medieval cities in Europe, and offers history and culture abound.
The flat north of the country is a great base for exploring by
bike, and there are many cycle paths and routes to enjoy, even
along Bruges' famous canals. Ghent similarly has a myriad of
historical delights and the seaside resort of Ostend has a pretty
promenade and a wide sandy beach. At the other end of the spectrum
is the cosmopolitan capital, Brussels, where you will find enough
museums and art galleries to keep you busy for days. Comic hero
Tintin originated in Belgium and you can learn everything there is
to know about him at the Comic Strip Museum in Brussels.
