The café culture in Belgium offers a relaxed pace of life and a sociable environment. While the many culinary options of this small and welcoming nation are definitely a highlight, there are many other reasons for a visit.

Bruges is one of the best preserved medieval cities in Europe, and offers history and culture abound. The flat north of the country is a great base for exploring by bike, and there are many cycle paths and routes to enjoy, even along Bruges' famous canals. Ghent similarly has a myriad of historical delights and the seaside resort of Ostend has a pretty promenade and a wide sandy beach. At the other end of the spectrum is the cosmopolitan capital, Brussels, where you will find enough museums and art galleries to keep you busy for days.
