Croatia
Croatia is a wonder to discover, a gem
of a country, with miles of rocky coastline, crystal blue Adriatic
waters and forested islands. Travel down the Dalmatian coast and
you'll see why this part of the country with its red-tiled towns,
fishing villages, historic cities and vineyards is so popular.
Described as 'the Mediterranean that once was' Croatia is a
beautiful country with a lot to offer as a holiday destination,
including more than a thousand islands on the Adriatic sea -
precisely 1185!
Regular ferries shuttle back and forth
between the unspoilt islands such as Hvar, famed for its lavender
and honey and known as the 'Queen of the Dalmatian Islands'. Or you
may prefer Korcula, the birthplace of Marco Polo and one of the
greenest islands in the Adriatic with dense woods, secluded beaches
and a wealth of art and culture. A day trip to the Pearl of the
Adriatic, Dubrovnik, a picturesque walled city, is also essential.
Wander its cool streets and marvel at the sea views from its
ancient stone parapets. With so many sights to see, and the ever
present blue waters of the Adriatic, Croatia is a beautiful holiday
destination.
