Camping Bled, Slovenia
Slovenia is a traveller's dream with a
wealth of history and heritage and numerous festivals, events and
restaurants offering delicious food and drink. The coastline may be
only 29 miles/46.6km long but it boasts the highest cliff on the
Adriatic coast and is perfect for lovers of sailing and surfing,
whilst the river Sava presents a challenge to all watersport
enthusiasts. Hiking, riding and cycling trails abound for leisurely
trips or more challenging excursions, whilst in winter there are
great ski slopes to choose from.
For those who prefer a slower pace,
Slovenia won't disappoint. Its stunning landscape includes more
than 1,000 beautiful 'karst' caves, formed over thousands of years
by the dissolving action of water on the bedrock. It also boasts
many natural thermal and climatic health resorts whilst in the
sunny alps there are excellent camping facilities at Bled.
Slovenia's friendly capital, Ljubljana, offers many interesting
places to visit having retained traces of all periods of its rich
history from Roman times through to the Renaissance, Baroque and
Art Nouveau.
