How do I place an advert?
On most pages on Caravan Club Classifieds you will see a button
to place an ad in the top right hand corner, click
this button and then just follow the process or click the link
below.

How much is it to place an advert?
Placing a basic ad is totally free and The Club takes no
commission from any sale. For a small fee however, you can have
your ad appear on the Classified home page for 6 days to ensure it
is seen by thousands or have your ad highlighted to make it really
stand out and ensure a quick sale.

How many adverts can I place?
You can place an unlimited number of adverts.

I have already placed an advert,
how do I view or edit it?
You can view or edit and even upgrade any of your adverts within
your account. Just click the 'manage ads' button
which can be found on the top right hand corner of most pages on
Caravan Club Classifieds.
Adding images to your advert can give you up to 8 times better
response.

I have sold my item, how do I remove my
advert?
You can remove your advert at any time by accessing
'manage ads', then clicking 'my
adverts' and 'edit advert' on the ad you
want to remove. You should then see the option to remove the advert
at the bottom of the page. Your advert will stay live for 90 days
if you do not remove it.

How long will it take for my advert to
appear?
During office hours ads will be checked and made live usually
within an hour, although at busy times this may take several
hours.

How are my personal details kept
private?
We take every care to ensure your personal details are kept
private. Email addresses are not displayed and when placing your
advert you can select a 'privacy number' which means we will
not display your personal phone number on the advert.
Instead we will display a YAC number.
A YAC number (You're Always Connected) is a way of keeping your
telephone number private from buyers. If someone dials the YAC
number it will redirect to your phone number without them knowing
what number it is dialling.
The only charge for a YAC number is to the person dialing it
i.e. the buyer. Calls from a UK landline will cost 37p per minute.
If calling from a mobile please check with your mobile operator for
their charges.

How long does my advert appear at the
top of the list for?
Adverts are automatically sorted so that the newest show first,
so it depends on how quickly new adverts are added after you place
your ad.
If you want to gain extra exposure, you can pay a small fee to
have your ad show on the Classified home page for 6 days as a
featured ad or you can have your ad highlighted to make it
stand out. Simply do this in the place an ad
process or if you have an existing ad, upgrade it in
your account.

What is a featured ad?
For a small fee you can upgrade your basic free ad to a featured
ad, which means it will show on the Classified home page for 6
days.

What is a highlighted ad?
For a small fee you can have your ad highlighted to make it
stand out from the rest and catch people's attention.

Can I pay to highlight my advert in
any way?
Yes, you can pay a small fee to have it highlighted, so it
stands out from the rest and catch's people's attention, or you can
upgrade your advert to a featured ad, which means it will show on
the Classified home page for 6 days.
I am having problems placing an ad
what can I do?
From member feedback many are placing their ads without problem.
The main problem area is around adding photo's. There is an upload
limite of 4mb so you need to be sure your images are resized to be
used on a website. Currently you can load up to 5 images at a time
but if the total of these exceeds 4mb the upload will fail. We are
working to resolve this issue, in the meantime please either reduce
your images sizes or number of images and you should be able to
place an ad. Our internet support team are there to help should you

I am not a member of The Caravan Club,
can I still place an advert on Caravan Club Classifieds?
Yes, just click on place an ad and select 'I am a
non-member'.

How long will my advert remain on
Caravan Club Classifieds?
Your advert will stay live for 90 days before it expires. At
this point you will receive an email reminder from us that it is
about to expire and you can renew the advert if you wish.
You can remove your advert at any time by accessing
manage ads, then clicking 'my adverts'
and 'edit advert' on the ad you want to remove.
You should then see the option to remove the advert at the bottom
of the page.

What happened to Online Trader?
Unfortunately, The Peoples Web who ran Online Trader on
behalf of The Club went into administration in March 2009 and we
were unable to continue to offer this service.
Since then we have partnered up with Caravan Selecta part
of the Friday-ad group to offer a new classifieds service, Caravan
Club Classifieds. Caravan Selecta are a well established
classifieds provider and we hope this service will be a popular
addition to the website for Club members.

I have placed an advert on Caravan
Club Classifieds why can I not see it in the magazine?
Caravan Club Classifieds is not linked in any way to The Club
magazine. It is an online only service. If you want to pay to place
an advert in the magazine you can do so on the magazine advertising
website

When searching for
caravan/motorhome/car ads, I can see most makes and models listed,
however some are missing from the drop downs?
Only the makes and models of caravans/motorhomes/cars
that have had adverts placed will appear in the
search list. If there is not currently an ad for that type of
outfit or vehicle then it will not display in the search drop
downs.
