Directions
From the A720: Exit right at Gogar roundabout (signposted City Centre, A8). In about 0.25 miles turn left onto the A902 (signposted Forth Road Bridge). In 1.5 miles turn right at Barnton junction traffic lights. In 1.75 miles at Blackhall junction traffic lights fork left onto Telford Road (signposted Leith, Granton, A902). In about 1.25 miles at Crewe Toll roundabout turn left (signposted Davidson's Mains, B9085). At T-junction (past bridge) turn right at traffic lights signposted Granton, Newhaven, Davidson's Mains. At next traffic lights turn left (signposted Davidsons Mains, Silverknowes). In 0.5 miles at roundabout turn right into Marine Drive. Site on the left in 0.5 miles. From the M9 continue onto the A8 to Gogar roundabout; then as above. From the A90 continue at Barnton junction traffic lights then as above.
Due to the new road layout - please do not follow your Sat Nav for the last part of your journey. Silverknowes Road alongside the Golf course is now a bus lane, please do not use this road. If you are approaching Silverknowes from Lauriston Farm Road, please take the second exit on the roundabout, along Muirhouse Parkway. At the next roundabout, take the first exit onto Marine Drive, following this for approximately 1.5miles and the site entrance is on your left.

Great as a stopver near Edinburgh
Edinburgh Club Campsite
We stayed here for 3 nights on a tour round Scotland. The site was only partially open when we visited due to refurbishment. The site is near to beaches and Crammond Island, I believe there is a bus service into Edinburgh but we drove ourselves in. Access was good, pitches were level, and the shower blocks requiring a code for entry were clean (if somewhat tired). The surrounding area is not very welcoming but we used the site purely as a base for visiting the city. Also to note is that the site is in the flight path to the airport so there is a little aircraft noise but not enough to worry us. The wardens here were always very busy on site and were very welcoming and friendly, a credit to the club. We would return here as a stopover again.
5 night stay
Edinburgh Club Campsite
We had just returned from a six night stay at this site. We have not been to Edinburgh before and thought this site would be idea for us to explore.
The site was partially open due to some upgrading being carried out. The side we was on had apparently already been refreshed, but the toilet and shower block still looked tired with some cracked tiles in the shower tray area. Saying that, the shower block was spotless, just in need of some money spending on it. After all the club is getting more expensive year on year, so you expect modern facilities.
The weather wasn’t kind to us and we found our awning flooded out. The wonderful wardens allowed us to relocate to a dry pitch.
While we had a great time in Edinburgh we would not return to this site again due to its location. There is a hotel about 100 metres away from the site that is currently used for homing asylum seekers and other suspect characters. There is discarded bottles, cans and takeaway food packages in the hedge bottoms as well as drugs paraphernalia in the wooded areas that have paths down to the costal paths.
We would not have felt safe walking outside the site after dark due to the type of people hanging about the local area.
On the plus side, the site is within easy reach of the Royal Yacht Britannia and it also has good public transport into the city centre.
We parked at Ocean Terminus ( free parking) then jumped on the tram to Princess Street.
ONE OF THE GREAT SITES
Edinburgh Club Campsite
Unasumingly looking for a trip over the Xmas period so a couple weeks before managed to get booked in here for 31st December 2023 1st & 2nd Jan 24. Planned trip as setting off on the 28th December from Hull going up A1 then accros to Keilder Castle , then up to Pebbles and the to Edinburgh. The welcome we recieved was one of the best all the staff so friendly
and helpfull, with it being new Years Eve, we asked about transport into Edinburgh , way and behold they had already organised in antisipation mini buses to ferry anyone there from 5pm onwards and rerturns from 1am onward to 3am , just wasn't expecting such organisation what stars. The next two days we found the site to be quite and relaxing with everyone
staff and other guests being so friendly. Will be looking at a return during the warmer months. Just great keep it up SLANGEVAR!
Edinburgh exploring
Edinburgh Club Campsite
This was our second visit to the Edinburgh Club Campsite - so I suppose that says a lot!
The site is clean and well laid out and the staff are friendly. The facilities are maintained well. The site is under the flight path for Edinburgh Airport but this didn't cause us any problems.
There are simple bus links into Edinburgh (a short walk) - we have now identified the 16, 27 and the 9 - or you can take advantage of the minibus service which goes from reception.
On this visit we also walked up the coast on the cycle/footpath to Cramond and then followed the River Almond path - we noted that there are lots more walking / cycling opportunities than first thought.
We will return next year.

Edinburgh Club Campsite
You don’t need to dig deep into your sporran to stay in wonderful Edinburgh. The Caravan and Motorhome Club site has all the first class fascilities we are accustomed to and is in an idyllic position on the Firth of Forth yet only a short bus ride out of the city or a personal taxi service from the campsite morning and evening for only £4 per trip with the friendliest Scotsman North of the Border, a stand up comic in his spare time, makes for a very entertaining journey with fellow passengers, plus the drop off point is only round the corner from the first ministers mansion! How cool is that?
