Reluctant sale of “Betsy”, our wonderful 1971 VW T2 ‘Riveria’ early Bay Window VW Camper. Much loved, lovingly maintained and garaged during our nearly 8 years of ownership. Absolutely ideal for 'stay-cations' we’ve used Betsy for mostly camping around the UK and festivals. Being an early Bay model (crossover variant) having the more desirable low light early bumpers, Betsy is an appreciating classic (and head turner!). Tax and MOT exempt and on the classic black number plates. Standard air-cooled original 4 gear manual petrol engine with mileage of 39,181. Our furthest trip took us to Marseille in the South of France. However, the cylinder head requires repair and the vehicle is running low on power. We’re now looking to sell (as we’ve bought another camper and need to free up garage space) with a large discount to allow any new owner the opportunity to either repair the original engine, replace with a larger engine or even consider an electric conversion! A local garage has quoted £2,500 to repair, so we’ve reduced the price to a bargain of £12,500 (van worth approx 20k repaired) to cover these works and provide various power options. Imported from California Betsy spent most of her life in a dry climate so is solid and rust free underneath. Left hand drive in vibrant Blue and White. Blue and White complimentary upholstery and curtains with rear bench seat that easily opens up into a double bed (rock and roll), pop up roof essential for comfortable camping ideal for a young child or provides ample storage, leisure battery, buddy seat, sink with pumped water and gas hob. First registered in the USA in January 1971 and imported into the UK in 2014. We are first owners since Betsy arrived in UK. Bargain priced sale to allow for engine work. Opportunity to add value.
