Pensford Certificated Locations

Once a hub for cloth production during the 14th to 16th centuries thanks to the availability of local wool, Pensford is a village with plenty of history.

Located within the Chew Valley area of Somerset and around seven miles from Bristol, Pensford is a designated conservation area and home to numerous historical buildings of interest, including the St Thomas à Becket Church, a grade-II* listed building that dates back to the 14th century and sits against a dramatic backdrop of railway viaducts.

For visitors wanting to get out and explore the local wildlife, Chew Valley Lake is a great starting point. Managed by the Avon Wildlife Trust, it is well-known for attracting numerous species of birds. It is also popular among anglers thanks to its stocks of trout.
