Why stay here ...

Our CL is set in the countryside on the fringes of Bristol, with far reaching views. Easy access via fenced and gated approach wellset off lane approach.

The site comprises 1.25 acres level, well drained grassland. Hardstandings and electrical hook-ups are available.

We welcome adults, children and pets. The Frome Valley Walkway is less than 200 yards from the CL - ideal for walkers and their dogs. There is no electric car charging on site.

Cycle tracks are accessible close by. The site is an excellent base for exploring Bristol, the centre of which only a 15 minute drive away, an amazing city boasting many attractions such as the Clifton Suspension Bridge and dockside area.

We have both an annual Harbour Festival and world famous Balloon Fiesta. Badminton horse trials are 30 minutes drive away. The arts are well catered for with Bristol Old Vic, Colston Hall, Bristol Hippodrome etc. Bath is less than 30 minutes drive and again a city with many sites to visit.

Our CL is ideally suited as a "stopover" for guests travelling, in any direction as the M4/M5 interchange is close by.

We have several pubs locally providing good food. Less than a 10 minute walk takes you to The White Horse public house and restaurant which serves good food. There are also take-away outlets some of which deliver! A 10 minute walk in the opposite direction takes you to the Golden Heart which offers fine dining.

Supermarkets are within a mile of the CL, or smaller shops such as excellent bakers and butchers in the local village of Winterbourne.

We are very close to Southmead Hospital and provide a good base for those wishing to visit family and friends or indeed, attend as patients themselves. We therefore have full A+E services within close proximity of the CL.

A Lovely Stay

Green Gables
We only ended up here by chance, we wanted to visit Bath Christmas Market and we left it too late to book anywhere nearer! However, it was clearly our lucky day as we loved this site and will definitely return. Communications with the host were great, and we were generally left alone to do our own thing, just as we like it. We were recommended to bring wellies, but even after the amount of rain we'd had recently we didn't need them as we stayed at the top of the field, it would probably have been soggier further down. We saw a couple of deer prancing round the field a couple of times! The bit of the field we were on had quite a slope and I had to use my big levelling ramp to its fullest height, but that isn't a criticism - it has to be expected on a CL - just intended as a useful note for future visitors. I could have avoided the need if I'd rotated the caravan through 90 degrees, but it was my choice to be across the slope. A couple of previous reviewers have mentioned access - yes the lane is narrow, the bridge especially so, but we got through without any trouble. Possibly the trees would overhang the lane a bit more in the summer but even then I wouldn't expect any difficulty. Final comment - read the recommended access route in the site description and follow it! There are some road closures nearby that satnavs don't seem to know about yet, but the recommended route is fine.

Hidden Treasure

Green Gables
We had a lovely stay here, hosts Jenny and Peter made as feel very welcome and we loved the location so much that we immediately decided to extend our stay. The site is ideally located close to the M4. Facilities and recycling are well laid out and convenient to the pitches.

Lovely stay

Green Gables
Had a very nice stay here for 3 nights while we visited family locally. Great spot for Bristol and ideal as a stop-over. Peter and Jenny are very helpful and always on the end of the phone if needed, and they just leave you to get on with it. Will return.

Super Site and very close to Bristol

Green Gables
Stayed here for 4 nights while visiting family in Bristol. It's very close to all main roads approaching from the North (M5), East (M4) and South Wales (M4/M48). A very secluded site surrounded by trees for good privacy. Jenny was very welcoming on arrival and explained all facilities. If you want to be close to Bristol, the location could not be better.

Great location for Bristol visit

Green Gables
Jenny greeted us on arrival and guided us through the field as it had been raining heavily for days. The hardstanding was very level, plenty of space. It is so well placed for a stoo over to or from the west country and for us for family visiting. You can hear the motorway but it's still a peaceful setting and well positioned for buses to town. And some lovely walks. Our first visit but wont be our last.
