Perfectly satisfying stay, happily use again.

Others have commented on noise. OK the EHU points are on the road side of the area but we didn’t find it bothersome at all. Traffic is all cars/vans, not lorries. There was the frequent clip-clop of a horse drawn vehicle as well! With the use of OS maps we plotted and walked from the site along well maintained public footpaths. A couple of miles away is Monks Wood SSSI with waymarked routes. A lovely wood. The social/sports club across the road was OK. There was a disco on the Saturday night we stayed and we never knew it was happening. The football has blokes shouting but it’s not for long and not intrusive. Mrs Shepherd is delightful and is concerned that we enjoy our stay. I’d be happy to go back there.

Just what we were looking for!

Nursery Cottage
Stayed overnight on 21/10, during the tail end of Storm Brian, as we were visiting former neighbours who had moved to Huntingdon a couple of years ago. Directions off the A14 could be clearer,as we ended up going through the village, but site access was easy off the Great North Road. We were the only ones there in our motorhome, Flo, so picked a great level spot in a corner. and listened to the wind howling.Walked into Alconbury village - lovely - and looked round the beautiful Church of St Peter, and St.Paul, and supported their local Project 21 by buying locally made jams.pickles and jewellery. The village has a convenience store open until 7.30 most days and a nice looking pub/restaurant - Black Rock- which we will try next time! Good Sports/social Club over the road, which had a Duathlon on Sunday morning, which was well supported. Slightly disorientated by faint music etc from this event at 7.30 on Sunday morning, but no real issue with people having fun! Didn't see the owners to be able to thank them for a spacious, basic site, with just the sheep in the next field for company. Enjoyed our brief stay C & C

Disappointed

Nursery Cottage
Easy to find and the site itself very pleasant, upon arrival the dustbins were full and remained that way until our departure, we appreciated that it was harvest time but rubbish was piling up.The social club directly opposite had music going till 12.45 am Saturday evening and most of the day on Sunday along with the busy road I would not say it was a quiet site.

Pleasant CL

Nursery Cottage
Nice flat field sadly our stay spoilt by the traffic / road noise which goes on most of the day . Some lovely dog walks direct from the site and the village is very nice. Plenty of pretty villages within easy reach
