Why stay here ...

A convenient small site on a family small holding at the border of Devon/Cornwall. It's well located to the main routes for exploring both counties, being half an hour's drive from Bude's beaches in one direction and Dartmoor National Park in the other.

The site is on the edge of the village, St-Giles-on-the-Heath, just outside Launceston (10 minutes). The village has a pub and a shop, there's also a well-stocked farm shop in Lifton, (10 minutes) and a garden centre in Dutson (five minutes).

There are plenty of other scenic stretches of coastline within easy reach too, as well as walking trails with outstanding views and pictureworthy villages, for a quick trip off base paddleboarding and other watersports at Roadford Lake are close by (15 minutes).

Dogs (1 dog per pitch) are permitted and there's a small flock of laying hens and fresh eggs are for sale on request.

Facilities on site ...

  • Shower (shared use)
  • WC (non-exclusive use)

Lovely CL! Lots of space, easy access & friendly owners.

Carey Gate
We had an enjoyable half term break at Carey Gate site. Access to the site was easy as long as you follow the instructions that they gave and not use the sat nav. The site itself is on a slight slope but the pitches are right at the top. All 5 pitches have EHU and water. There was so much space for our kids and dogs to run around and play. The site is conveniently located - 30 minutes to Bude and the beaches nearby. We particularly liked the fact that they had a small camping field on the other end of the site, which then allowed us to invite another family member with a tent to come along. Phil was very friendly and certainly gave us a warm welcome. Sally was very accommodating and helpful too. The only thing I would mention about this site is the road noise in the day which all goes away at night. However, that didn't bother us at all. We had a lovely stay. We will certainly want to go back again!

Great Site, Friendly Welcome

Carey Gate
Stayed here for the bank holiday weekend over half term with the kids. Plenty of space on the field in front of the pitch which is sunny all day long. The CL site is next to a very small peaceful camping area on the other side of the hedge which the owners also run. This was handy as we were able to enjoy our break with relatives who had a tent. The newly built toilet and shower hut is spacious, spotless and covid secure. Its a new site only opened late last year, so really hope others will find this little gem!
