Why stay here ...

Faugh Head Farm is an adults only CL site on a small working farm situated in the beautiful Eden Valley of Cumbria above the picturesque village of Armathwaite and the River Eden. It is in a very peaceful setting with beautiful views across the valley and in good weather we enjoy the most stunning sunsets over the near horizon. We are surrounded by excellent walking country via lanes and woods and are close to the unspoiled east fellside of the North Pennines. We are conveniently situated for touring the Lake District, Scottish Borders and  the Roman Wall country of Northumberland. The Border city of Carlisle and the market towns of Penrith and Brampton are each approx 12 mile from us. The famous Settle - Carlisle railway line runs through Armathwaite with a regular service stopping at Armathwaite station which is approx 1.5 miles from the site.

Armathwaite has a Post Office and an exceptionally well stocked shop which sells locally produced foods. There are two pubs in the village, both dog friendly which do excellent meals. We are truly spoiled for dining out as there are several more excellent eating places in nearby villages that are within 10/15 minutes driving distance of the site.

We have a heated indoor swimming pool adjacent to the site which is available for private hire through its normal booking procedures.

On site we have some level and some gently sloping grass pitches (all with EHU), a toilet and shower block with power showers delivering oodles of hot water, a pot wash which visitors find very useful for washing those larger pans etc and all the usual CDP, fresh water supply etc.

We really do welcome dogs and love meeting our canine visitors as well as their owners. The 4 acre field beside the site is secure and kept clear of livestock so that dogs can be exercised "off leash" in this field. We do keep a footpath well mown around its edge so that humans don't get a soaking in the long grass if it's wet.

Lovely Quiet CL Site

We stayed at this site in June for two nights - it wasn't quite long enough. A lovely CL site - would highly recommend it for the peace and quiet and lovely scenery around the site. Our dogs loved the field opposite the site for a good run around. Clean facilities and not too far to walk to the village for a bite to eat and a drink.. We will definitely be returning. Thank you Hazel for making us feel welcome.

3 days of beautiful sunshine.

Myself, wife and three toy poodles visited this site. We had great weather which helped us get out and explore the area on foot The dogs started out as standard poodles but by the time we had finished walking around they ended up toy poodles. Lol. Thanks to our hosts for a great time and we will return soon.

Perfection

We have been to this site a few times now and have enjoyed every visit. Beautiful, well-kept site, spectacular views, friendly hosts and lots of things to do in and around the beautiful Eden Valley. Good toilets and showers and each pitch now has its own water tap and drain. Grass is kept well mown and site is well drained so no problem with grass etc treading into van. We love this place and are always sad to leave but we know we will always return. Well worth a visit but leave a space for us.

Secret gem

Just spent 3nights at this wonderful CL site and annoyed that we had pre -booked our next site. Excellent welcome from Hazel who took time to introduce herself and discuss the site and the local area. Shower was hotter and more powerful than any other site I have visited. Fantastic views from the site and large dog walking area which has a mown path all around. Fully serviced pitches have just been installed. Two pubs within 1 mile. Will definitely be back again this year.
