Superb CL

We have just experienced a very enjoyable 7-night stay, and have been impressed with the facilities on offer, especially the level hard-standing pitch we were on, with water and drainage to hand. The toilet and shower are clean and airy. The scenery is beautiful, and the tree-lined drive-way is pleasing to the eye. This is an excellent spot for exploring North Devon and Exmoor. The owners, Richard and Debbie made us feel very welcome, as did the farm hands we met. Our youngest son is really into agricultural machinery, especially tractors, and Richard very kindly made the time to take us for a ride in his tractor, which was an unexpected blessing and very much appreciated by our son (and me!). Note from eldest son, aged 12; “I had a great time! There were cows, horses, calves, and lots of wildlife including swallows to see. It was great!” We are looking forward to coming back next year, where we are hoping to stay for longer. Thoroughly recommended!

Excellent CL

This is a beautiful and very peaceful site. The owners were very helpful when called upon but left you to your own devices, which we found to be great. The facilities were great, very clean and tidy. The views from are van were brilliant and very panoramic of the north Devon countryside. This is a working farm, and we asked if we could watch the milking being done one evening, and Richard the owner was happy for us to watch. This was a great spectacle and amazing to watch, Richard and his son talked us through the process and answered all of our questions, It was a good job that we had our boots with us as it can get messy!! I would recommend this site and it was one of the best CL's that we have stayed on. If we are in the area again I wouldn't hesitate to return.

Wonderful CL

When we first pulled into the driveway of the farm, we were a little surprised to see that the pitches were along the side of this long driveway and in order to get to them you had to drive between trees lining the beautiful avenue / driveway. But it was not a problem and as the driveway is sloping downhill, the owner has cut into the hillside so that the pitches are level with really good space between each pitch so really quite private. Each has EHU, water on tap and waste drainage. There are views all around and it is SO peaceful! We absolutely loved it here and will definitely be returning. In fact we would go as far to say that this was the best CL we have ever stayed at! There are rubbish bins on site and the toilet is a little walk further down the driveway towards the farmhouse on the left in a little gated courtyard area. Spacious, clean, light and airy. There is also a shower on site however we never found this as we showered in our van given we had a fully serviced pitch with water on tap. Idyllic. We even saw a baby calf born across the way in the adjoining farm. Debbie was very friendly when we knocked to pay on our penultimate day. Very hospitable and not in your face which we quite like. We couldn't believe that we were the only ones staying here over a bank holiday weekend as there are such lovely places to visit nearby all within a stones throw - especially if you are into walking as we are. And what a lovely base to do it all from. Can't rate this place highly enough. Wondeful! Had everything we needed.

Lovely holiday location

Just spent nearly a week at Wigmore farm. A really excellent CL located next to the farm house road but this is no farmer's field! The pitches would make many commercial sites feel embarrassed with all levelled out and 3 (that I could see) with hardstanding. 2 water taps and waste to each pitch and a nice shower and toilet a short walk down the track. The owners were very welcoming and friendly and the CL is great value. The location is great for a summer vacation close to the North Devon beaches but also close to local towns and facilities if it rains. Access is OK but follow the instructions as the road to the farm is a typical Devon lane with passing places. A great site which I hope we'll use again.

The Beauty of the Devon Countryside

You stay here if you want peace and beautiful views. Each of the pitches has it's own water & waste. The facilities though basic are clean but a little walk from the pitch's. The Fry's are a delight and very friendly. Help was freely given to site our large van on the wet grass just after heavy rain. Our stay was only two nights but we will be happy to return. The Pyne Arms (2 miles) at Eastdown serves great food and ale whilst being dog friendly.
